Former Lady Bear basketball standout Monica Arnold Mitchell will be honored Saturday as a 2010 Baylor Basketball Legend by the `B' Association.

Former Lady Bear basketball standout Monica Arnold Mitchell will be honored Saturday as a 2010 Baylor Basketball Legend by the `B' Association.

Mitchell, a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter for the Lady Bears, wore the green and gold from 1997-2001. During her time wearing No. 40, Mitchell was a team leader in blocked shots, finishing her career with 116 which ranks No. 7 all-time on Baylor's shot block chart. In addition, she once rejected six shots against Kansas State which ranks among the program's single-game leaders. Throughout her career Mitchell scored 785 points and hauled down 523 rebounds.

After graduation, the Austin, Texas, native, remained in the Waco area and currently serves as a juvenile probation officer for McLennan County.
