Future Lady Bears Earn McDonald's All-American Status

Baylor women's basketball signees Niya Johnson and Alexis Prince are two of 24 high school seniors selected to play in the prestigious 2012 McDonald's All-American Game. Both future Lady Bears will play for the East Team in the McDonald's All-American Game, which will be played March 28 at the United Center in Chicago. The game will begin at 6 p.m. CST and will be broadcast on ESPNU.

The duo brings Baylor's McDonald's All-American list to six; Brittney Griner and Destiny Williams were honored in 2009, while Brooklyn Pope was a 2008 selection and Odyssey Sims was 2010 recipient.

Johnson, a 5-7 point guard who hails from Gainesville, Fla., averaged 26 points, eight rebounds and eight assists on the season., Prince, a native of Maitland, Fla., is a 6-2 forward who averaged 19.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.8 blocks during the regular season.

Net proceeds from ticket sales at the McDonald's All-American Games will help support the host city's local Ronald McDonald House charities and initiatives.
