The top-ranked Baylor Lady Bears, 23-1 overall and 10-0 in Big 12 action, bring their 20-game win streak, including 16 straight at home, into Monday's contest against the No. 6/5 ranked Texas A&M Aggies. The contest marks the final of four games in a nine-day span for the Lady Bears; Feb. 6 at OSU, Feb. 9 at Nebraska, Feb. 12 vs. Texas and Feb. 14 vs. Texas A&M. The Lady Bears are hosting their first-ever ESPN Big Monday game.
Baylor is led on the season by sophomore post Brittney Griner's 22.4 points and 8.0 rebounds a contest while freshman guard Odyssey Sims follows with 13.4 points a game. Senior Melissa Jones checks in with 9.5 points and 6.8 rebounds a contest, while sophomore post Destiny Williams manages 9.1 points and 6.6 rebounds an outing. Sophomore post Brooklyn Pope adds 6.1 rebounds a contest.
Gary Blair's Aggies, 21-2 on the season and 9-1 in league play, are led in scoring and rebounding by senior Danielle Adams' 23.7 point and 8.5 rebound averages, she is followed by junior forward Tyra White at 13.4 points an outing. Baylor's 20-game win streak is the longest active win streak in NCAA Division I.
Monday is Baylor's Pink Zone game to show support for breast cancer awareness for women. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to show support for this cause.
As a team, Baylor ranks among the top 20 in NCAA Division I statistics in 15 categories, including 13 among the top 10. Baylor has held its opponents to a .310 field goal percentage this season while shooting .479, both of which are Big 12-leading marks. BU leads the nation in two departments; field goal percentage defense and scoring margin (30.0).
Baylor's Brittney Griner is a contender for National Player of the Year honors while point guard Odyssey Sims is a National Freshman of the Year candidate. The tandem joins Melissa Jones as All-America candidates as well.
BU's 20-game win streak is its longest since a school-record 30-game string that encompassed the final 20 games of the 2004-05 season and the first 10 of the 2005-06 campaign. The current 20-game run is the second-longest in school history and marks the ninth time in the last 11 seasons BU has registered at least one double-digit win streak.
Baylor is 8-1 vs. ranked opponents this season, including two top 10 victories, and has won eight straight vs. ranked foes . The Lady Bears have posted a +14.6 scoring margin against its nine ranked opponents this season.
Versus ranked opponents, Odyssey Sims is maintaining a higher scoring average than her season scoring mark. Sims averages 15.8 ppg vs. ranked foes vs. 13.4 ppg on the season.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
Located in College Station, Texas, the Texas A&M Aggies are 21-2 on the season and 9-1 in Big 12 play. Texas A&M's two losses came at fifth-ranked Duke (61-58) and against No. 1 Baylor (63-60). The Aggies are riding a three-game win streak and have won 15 of their last 16 games. Their lone loss during that span was a home loss to Baylor on Jan. 30.

The Aggies are coached by eighth-year head coach Gary Blair (Texas Tech, 1972). Blair is 176-76 (.698) in his eight seasons along the Texas A&M sideline and 584-239 (.710) in 26 seasons as a head coach.
Baylor leads the series 45-35 and has won 20 of the last 23 contests, including six straight wins. Overall in Waco the Lady Bears hold a 23-13 edge, including three straight wins in the Ferrell Center since A&M's 63-58 win here in 2007.

NATION'S LONGEST WIN STREAK
Baylor now owns the nation's longest active NCAA Division I win streak at 20 games. Third-ranked Duke's 87-51 loss at second-ranked UConn on Monday, Jan. 31, broke the Blue Devils' 20-game win streak.
Baylor's win streak is followed by Marist's 18 straight wins, while Stanford has won 16 in a row. Tennessee and Wisconsin-Green Bay each have won 15 consecutive contests.
OFF TO A GOOD START
Baylor is 23-1 after 24 games for its best-ever start in the program's 37 seasons. BU opened the 2007-08 season at 20-1.
BU is 10-0 to open Big 12 Conference play for the first time in the league's 15-year history. The Lady Bears opened league play in 2007-08 with eight straight wins.
Baylor seeks to become just the third program in Big 12 history to post an undefeated league mark. Oklahoma accomplished the feat in 2006 while Nebraska was perfect in league play last season.
