WACO, Texas - After suffering a blow the head in the final minutes of BU's win at Oklahoma, senior guard Melissa Jones will not play in the Missouri contest, fellow senior Whitney Zachariason will start in her place. The injury has caused swelling around the optic nerve and at the present time, she cannot see out of her right eye. MRI and MRA tests show no damage to the eye, optic nerve or brain and her pupils are equal and reactive to light.
Jones and Zachariason will be honored during ceremonies on Wednesday. Less than 2,000 tickets remain for Baylor's matchup with Missouri. A Lady Bear victory on Wednesday would clinch the program's second Big 12 regular season championship and fourth crown overall.
