Four Lady Bear basketball players were recipients of All-Big 12 honors it was announced by the league office on Friday. Angela Tisdale, Rachel Allison, Jessica Morrow, Jhasmin Player were all recognized by the coaches. The all-conference teams were voted on by the Big 12 coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own players.
Tisdale and Allison were named to the 10-member first team while Morrow and Player were honorable mention selections. In addition, Allison was named to the five-player all-defensive team.
After earning second team honors twice, Tisdale moved up to the first team while enjoying her finest season as a Lady Bear. The 5-7 senior guard leads the Lady Bears in scoring at 16.0 a game and in assists (95). The Austin, Texas, native ranks No. 6 in the league in scoring and leads the conference in free throw percentage at .812. She recently became Baylor's all-time assists leader and currently has 480 to her credit.
Alison was named to two all-league teams for the first time in her career, earning first team honors and all-defensive kudos. The Jonesboro, Ark., native, ranks second on the team in scoring at 12.7 a contest and is the squad's top rebounder at 8.6 an outing. Despite being one of the shortest posts in the league at 6-1, Allison ranks No. 2 in the league in rebounding and No. 17 in scoring. She also is among the conference leaders in steals and free throw percentage.
Morrow and Player, both junior guards, received honorable mention honors. Morrow received her first nod from the coaches while Player, who was sidelined for the season by a knee injury on Feb. 2, earned all-defensive honors last season.
