Odyssey Sims Shines in World University Games

Odyssey Sims has started all three game in the World University Games.

Point guard Odyssey Sims and her USA Basketball World University Games teammates have advanced to the tournament's quarterfinal round by posting a 3-0 mark in preliminary round play.

The USA posted wins over Mali (120-32), Czech Republic (101-61) and Brazil (105-75) to advance to quarterfinal action.

Sims has started in all three games and is averaging 8.7 points, 7.3 assists and 2.0 steals a contest. Against Brazil, the Irving, Texas native, dished out 10 assists in 19 minutes of action, tying the USA World University Games individual game high record that Kamie Ethridge set in 1985 against Canada. Sims also scored 13 points in the victory over the Czech Republic.

Next up for the USA will be a quarterfinal matchup at 10:30 a.m. (times listed are local; Kazan, Russia is +8 hours from EDT) on Friday, July 12.
