WACO, Texas – With cooler weather hitting Central Texas this past weekend after the warmest summer on record, Waco’s 55 degree low on October 1 will afford Baylor men’s and women’s basketball fans who have been waiting to purchase season tickets for the 2011-12 season to do this week at a discounted price of $55 each.
“With both teams being ranked high in many of the preseason polls, there is tremendous excitement for the upcoming Baylor men’s and women’s basketball seasons,” said Baylor Executive Associate Athletics Director/External Affairs Nick Joos. “We are grateful for those fans who have already purchased season tickets and hope that this promotion will be appealing to Central Texans looking to follow the Bears and Lady Bears this winter in the Ferrell Center.”
Fans will be able to purchase season tickets at the discounted price online, in person at the Baylor Athletics Ticket Office or via phone by calling 254.710.1000 starting at 8:30 a.m., Oct. 3 through Oct. 9. There is a limit of four tickets per order and a $20 per order service charge will also be assessed.
Coach Kim Mulkey’s Lady Bears, fresh off a sweep of the Big 12 regular-season and tournament titles and the program’s third-ever Elite Eight trip, return four starters for a team ranked No. 1 in the 2011-12 preseason after last year’s school-record 34 wins. The Baylor men’s team, meanwhile, also returns four starters from a year ago while welcoming one of the nation’s top recruiting classes and has been recognized as consensus 2011-12 preseason top 25 team by several publications.
