WACO, Texas - Tickets for the Baylor Lady Bears' exhibition basketball game against the USA National Team will go on sale to the general public on Monday, Oct. 8, at 8 a.m. The he fourth stop of an eight game collegiate tour four USA Basketball will be played on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. in the Ferrell Center.
The $10 tickets for the Baylor-USA game are available through the Baylor Athletic Ticket Office at Floyd Casey Stadium or by calling 1-800-BAYLORU or 254-710-1000. Tickets may also be purchased at BaylorBears.com. In addition, individuals wishing to purchase or renew season tickets may do so via the same outlets.
"I'm excited that our fans and all of Central Texas and the people who follow women's basketball will have an opportunity to come see some of the best players our country has to offer. I think I'm going to be just as excited as a coach to be able to watch that much talent assembled on a USA basketball team," said Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey, a 1984 USA Olympic gold medal winner.
Last season the Lady Bears finished the year ranked 11th in the country in home attendance with and average of 6,295 fans a contest. In addition, Big 12 women's basketball broke its own NCAA record while leading the nation in attendance for the eighth consecutive year.
For the second straight season, Baylor cracked the 100,000 barrier and set a single-season total attendance record. Last year the Lady Bears drew 100,316 fans and they finished the 2006-07 campaign with 119,603 fans passing through the turnstiles.
The Lady Bears also broke the all-time Ferrell Center total attendance record (men's or women's) of 109,494 set in 2001-02 with 119,603 fans this past season. In addition, Baylor has ranked in the top 25 in attendance every season since Kim Mulkey became the program's head coach.
