WACO, Texas - The Baylor Lady Bears are ranked No. 4 nationally in the USA Today ESPN Division I Top 25 Coaches' preseason poll released Wednesday. The Lady Bears debut in the Coaches' poll top 10 for the third time in program history and their No. 4 ranking is their highest initial ranking. Baylor is listed No. 7 in the recently released Associated Press preseason poll.

Baylor posted a 29-6 overall record last season and finished No. 6 in the final Coaches' poll. The Lady Bears finished second in the Big 12 Conference, won the Big 12 Championship and were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament in the Sweet 16 by eventual national runner-up Louisville. Baylor returns one starter off last season's squad and boasts eight returnees and five newcomers on this year's roster, including the nation's top-rated freshman class.

Baylor's regular season gets underway Nov. 15 when it travels to Knoxville, Tenn., to take on the ninth-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols in the State Farm Tip-Off Classic. The contest will be televised on ESPN2 and will tip off at 4 p.m. (CT).
