Baylor freshman Nina Davis (Baylor) was selected as the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week, as chosen by a media panel. Oklahoma senior Aaryn Ellenberg was recipient of the league's Player of the Week award.
The Big 12 Conference began awarding Freshman of the Week honors in 2009-10. Since that time, six Baylor players have been recognized. In addition to Davis, Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims were each five-time honorees while Kimetria Hayden, Shanay Washington and Alexis Prince were recognized as well.

In her first career start, Nina Davis scored a game-best and career-high 28 points in Baylor's win over Nicholls State. She also hauled down a game- and career-high 11 rebounds to record her first collegiate double-double while adding five steals. Davis was 11-of-13 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the free throw line. So far this season, she is shooting a league-leading .889 (16-of-18) from the floor and is .875 (7-of-8) from the charity stripe. The rookie forward is averaging 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals.

Aaryn Ellenberg averaged 21.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in Oklahoma's Preseason WNIT games against No. 25 Gonzaga and No. 5 Louisville. The senior guard scored a game-high 21 points, including the go-ahead basket and clinching free throws, in the 82-78 win over Gonzaga. The game featured 21 lead changes and 14 ties. Ellenberg also totaled a game-high five assists and two steals. She added a team-high 22 points and grabbed a career-best 12 rebounds for her second career double-double in OU's overtime loss in the championship game. The 5-7 guard set the tournament record for 3-pointers made with 15 in four games.
