Nov. 23, 2004

WACO, Texas - Baylor University has partnered with Cedar Ridge Elementary for their Good Behavior incentive program, providing a basketball ticket to each child that successfully completes the requirements. The program is designed for third through fifth grade students.

The program requires that all students meet the following requirements: no referrals, no more than two detentions, no "U" for citizenship, good sportsmanship, make responsible choices and pass all their classes in the first term.

If the students meet all the requirements, they will receive a voucher to attend a Baylor basketball game as a class at the end of the term. This year Baylor provided 160 vouchers to the school in anticipation of the students meeting the program requirements.

Stacie Sorensen, a physical education teacher at Cedar Ridge, said, "The students are still talking about last year's visit and it had a very positive impact."

Sorensen and other officials from Cedar Ridge will be taking the students to a non-conference women's basketball game before the end of the year.
