WACO, Texas - For the first time in program history, the Baylor women's basketball program has experienced an advance sellout. As of Dec. 2, the Lady Bears' Sunday, Dec. 18, game in the Ferrell Center versus Connecticut has officially been sold out.
The only remaining tickets are for Baylor faculty, staff and students, and those will be distributed at the door on game day, just as they are for all home games. A limited number of tickets are being held since it is the start of winter break on the Baylor campus.
The contest will be televised by ESPN, tip time for the Sunday, Dec. 18, contest is 7:30 p.m. The women's Final Four crew of Dave O'Brien, Doris Burke and Rebecca Lobo will call the game.
The contest will match up No. 1 Baylor vs. No. 2 UConn for the second straight year, however, last season the rankings were reversed. In Hartford, Conn., last season the top-ranked Huskies defeated No. 2 Baylor, 65-64.
Baylor sold out four games last season but none were advance sellouts. The Lady Bears drew a record 10,569 fans when Tennessee came to Waco, 10,379 were in the stands vs. Texas Tech, Texas A&M attendance was 10,299 and BU/Texas drew 10,294 fans.
