WACO, Texas -
As the finale for the fourth annual "Bears Care Bear Drive," sponsored by the First National Bank of McGregor South Bosque, stuffed Bears were distributed by the Lady Bear basketball team Thursday to patients at Hillcrest Hospital's Kidsville.
Hundreds of stuffed bears were collected at the Baylor-Louisiana Tech game on Dec. 5.
After a warm welcome by Hillcrest President/CEO Glenn Robinson, First National Bank executives Mike Beard (CEO) and Steve Doty (CFO) and numerous Hillcrest staff, the Lady Bears visited Kidsville, the hospital's pediatric unit. After visiting with several patients, the team proceeded to the neonatal intensive care unit of the hospital and he newborn nursery where they greeted numerous patients, passed out bears and signed and distributed autographed mini-basketballs.
"It was such an awesome experience for us," said junior guard Melissa Jones. "This is my third year to participate and I look forward to it every year."
