EQ Hires Marlena Beckham as Interim Hunt Seat Coach

Former Texas A&M rider joins Maxwell's staff in interim role

Marlena Beckham is in first season as the interim assistant coach on the Baylor equestrian coaching staff, joining the program in January of 2018.

Beckham works with the hunt seat riders, helping to lead one of the most traditionally successful and prolific units in the country.

She was a four-year letterwinner for Texas A&M from 2012 to 2016, leaving as one of the most decorated and high-scoring hunt seat riders in program history.

Beckham joined the Bears after serving as the Girls Ministry Director at Central Baptist Church in College Station over the previous year and a half.

She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Communications and Journalism from Texas A&M in 2016 and is currently working towards a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary.

A native of Cumming, Ga., Beckham is married to Allen, an associate with the campus discipleship and missionary organization, Lightbearers International.
