EQ Loses Hunter Seat; Match At TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas - Coming off a 6-3 loss in Western on Friday, the No. 6 Baylor equestrian team (7-4) was defeated in Hunter Seat 6-4, losing the meet 12-7 Saturday afternoon in Fort Worth.

Saturday began with a 3-2 loss for the bears in Fences. Samantha Schaefer (80) and Lindsey Otis (75) earned the points for Baylor.

Wrapping up the weekend, BU fell 3-2 in fences, making the total for the meet 12-7. Both Jennifer Mitchell (76) and Melanie Appel (76) earned points for the Bears.

The No. 6 Baylor equestrian team will go on to compete against SMU on Sat., Feb. 16 in Dallas, Texas.

Briefing Friday's Western action:
TCU took a 3-2 lead in Horsemanship with Parris Rice taking home MVP honors after a discipline high 77.5. Mary Brown's 72 kept the Horned Frogs' lead at one.

TCU extended its lead in Reining with a 3-1 win, with Shelbey Jackson's 68.5 claiming a half-point victory.
