Nicole McCoy earned two points for the Bears against Auburn in Western competition.

Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn equestrian team (7-2) defeated Baylor (4-8) 10-7 at the Auburn Equestrian Center Saturday afternoon. The Bears posted a 5-4 Western win but dropped Hunt Seat competition 6-2.
The Bears rode to their best Western result of the season claiming a 3-2 edge in Reining and tying 2-2 in Horsemanship. Junior Nicole McCoy earned points for the Bears in both events and claimed her second straight Horsemanship MVP. Also earning points for Baylor in the Western events were sophomore Lindsay Douglas in Horsemanship and Katie Buss and Kim Marlowe, a junior, in Reining. Buss, a freshman, earned the first MVP of her collegiate career with her 71.5 point ride.
Baylor edged Auburn in Hunt Seat Equitation over Fences 2-1 behind MVP Heather Healy's 82 point ride, freshman Kendra Vicary scored Baylor's other Over Fences point. Healy, a sophomore, now has four MVP rides to her credit this season.
Auburn swept Baylor in Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat 5-0 behind MVP Rebecca Rifkin, who edged Heather Healy 91-90. Other Tiger winners included Ali Loprete over Mary Smitson 85-77, Coburn Park over Cara Wilson 87-81, Chelsea Anheuser over Shelby White 84-68 and Jenny Reinhart over Nicole Brown 87-79.
Baylor will be at the University of Georgia on Sunday, Feb. 17, competition is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m. (CT).
