WACO - The No. 4 Baylor equestrian team (7-2) dropped its first competition of the spring season 13-11, falling to No. 6, Oklahoma State, (5-4) on Saturday afternoon at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.

"OSU did an excellent job today," head coach Ellen White said. "We maybe let some brain lapses come, and we didn't stay on top of our game. It was a good job by the girls overall, I think we just let some of our edge down."

The meet began with a 4-2 Baylor win in Fences. Lisa Goldman (87) earned MVP honors, while Ashley Ann McGehee (81), Kara Fergusson (84) and Taylor Brown (79) also earned points for the bears.

Oklahoma State took the lead, 7-5, after a 5-1 win in Horsemanship. Bryn Lindley (73) earned the point for BU.

After a 4-2 win for Baylor in Flat, the meet was tied 9-9 leaving the Hunter Seat team undefeated on the season. Taylor Brown (86), Kim Woodsum (83), Sue Carol Thompson (87) and Lisa Goldman (82) all contributed points for the win.

The meet ended after Reining with a 4-2 victory for Oklahoma State. Amber Mooney (71.5) and Ellie Powell (70) both earned points for the bears.

The Bears go on the road next Saturday, Feb. 25 to take on Fresno State in Athens, Georgia.
