Baylor's equestrian team posted its second straight victory when it defeated Fresno State 9-5 at the Willis Family Equestrian Center on Saturday. The win raises the Bears' season record to 6-9.

Baylor swept Western MVPs with Allison Orosz and Madelyn Mooney winning in horsemanship and reining, respectively. Fresno State riders took Hunter Seat honors with Lisa Wells earning MVP in Equitation Over Fences and Kirsten Sohns was Equitation on the Flat MVP.

Baylor posted a 5-3 Hunter Seat win, earning two points in Equitation Over Fences and three in Equitation on the Flat. Heather Healy and Nicole Brown scored for the Bears in Fences while Beth Banister, Shelby White and Mary Smitson recorded wins in Flat.

The Bears outscored Fresno State 4-2 in Western riding, earning two points each in Horsemanship and Reining. In addition to Orosz's MVP ride in Horsemanship, Ashleigh Carlson added a point while Valtie Riddle joined Mooney in scoring in Reining.

Baylor's next competition will be on Saturday, March 1 when they host Tennessee-Martin at 11:00 a.m. at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
