Equestrian Loses To Auburn

The No. 7 Baylor equestrian team (7-6) fell to No. 2 Auburn (10-2) 14-4 on Saturday at the Auburn Equestrian Center.

Baylor fell behind early, losing 4-1 in Flat, with the lone win coming from Heather Healy (54-47) over Dottie Grub.

Auburn extended its lead with a 5-0 win in Fences, making it 9-1 in favor of the Tigers.

Baylor picked up a point and a pair of ties in Horsemanship, but Auburn still lengthened the lead to 11-2. Ashley Garza picked up a 73-71.5 win over Laura Rooney, while Lindsay Tomko and Meghan Murphy each tied.

Madelyn Mooney earned MVP honors in Reining, recording one of the two points for BU. Katie Buss earned the other win for the Bears, winning 68-66.

The Bears will be back in action Sunday, taking on No. 1 Georgia beginning at 11:00 a.m.
