EQ Advances to NCEA Quarterfinals with 12-4 Win over UTM

BU vs. UT Martin Results


WACO, Texas - The Baylor equestrian team advanced to Friday's quarterfinals Thursday with a 12-4 win over UT Martin at the Extraco Center in the opening round of the NCEA Championship.

The Lady Bears picked up their 10th win of the season, but more importantly advanced to face No. 3-seeded Georgia Friday.

Baylor, the No. 6 seed, took all four disciplines by a score of 3-1 and out-dueled No. 11 seed UT Martin to move on. It was Baylor's second win over UT Martin this season after an early win Sept. 28, 11-5.

Baylor last faced Georgia Oct. 12, 2012 when the Bulldogs were ranked No. 1 in the NCEA, and the Lady Bears fell 14-10.

Baylor and Georgia are set to square off at 8:30 a.m. Friday morning for the quarterfinals round. The Bulldogs had a first round bye.
