WACO, Texas – No. 7 Baylor equestrian (2-3, 1-1 Big 12) pocketed a 12-0 win against UT on Friday afternoon at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in a hunt seat-only exhibition meet.

Starting the meet off with fences, the Bears took charge and dominated, holding the Longhorns scoreless for a 6-0 finish in the discipline. Sophomore Sarah Sharou received her first MOP honors of 2017 with a solid score of 88.

In flat, BU continued to shut out their opponent with another 6-0 result. Marissa Kinnally was awarded MOP honors with a lofty score of 95, while Shannon Hogue, Caroline Weaver, and Sydney McManus each breached the 80-point mark for the Bears.

Sarah Sharou’s 88 is the new highest score for a Fences rider in 2017.
Marissa Kinnally’s 95 is the new highest score for a Flat rider in 2017.

3 – the number of 85’s scored by BU in the Fences portion of the competition, including riders Rachael Davis, Sydney McManus, and Caroline Weaver.

10 – the number of collective rides by BU to breach the 80-point mark.

Having finished its full fall schedule, Baylor Equestrian will not compete again until Feb. 2, 2018, to take on Auburn at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
