Equestrian Travels to College Station

WACO, Texas - The fourth-ranked Baylor equestrian team faces the No. 2 Texas A&M Aggies at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams met previously this season on Nov. 22 in Waco, where the Lady Bears breezed by the Aggies 15-5.

Baylor, 8-2 on the season, is coming off two victories against No. 11 Southern Methodist (4-2) and No. 12 Delaware State (11-5). Texas A&M has suffered two consecutive losses, the most recent to No. 7 South Carolina (13-7).

In the Hunter Seat competition, Lisa Goldman, Kara Fergusson, Nicole Brown, Heather Healy, Kendra Vicary and Mary Smitson will ride in Equitation over Fences, while Shelby White, Smitson, Healy, Cara Wilson, Goldman and Margaret Beaudoin will compete in Equitation on the Flat.

In the Western discipline, Allison Orosz, Lindsey Tomko, Nicole McCoy, Lindsay Douglas, Meghan Murphy and Suzanna Nelson will represent Baylor in Horsemanship. Katie Buss, Madelyn Mooney, Valtie Riddle, Kim Marlowe, Amber Mooney and Michelle Reynolds will compete in Reining.



The competition format will feature a series of head-to-head match ups. The team accumulating the most head-to-head victories will win the overall match. In the event of a tie, the victor will be determined by total points. In addition, there will be an individual award for the most valuable player in each event.
