WACO, Texas -
Baylor' s women's equestrian team returns to action Saturday morning hosting its third straight home show at the Willis Family Equestrian Center. Baylor hosts Kansas State Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. in the pair's third match up this season.
Baylor enters the show coming off of a 9-7 loss to Georgia giving BU a 2-3 overall record.
The Bears have won both meetings with the Wildcats, and 8-7 win at Georgia's Bulldog Invitational and a 12-8 win in a head-to-head show in Manhattan, Kan.
Saturday's show will include English's Equitation on the Flat and Equitation over Fences as well as Western's Horsemanship and Reining.
Due to possible rain, there are two possible schedules of events. If weather permits, the show will begins with Equitation on the Flat in the covered arena while Horsemanship rides in the outdoor arena. The covered arena will then hold Equitation over Fences followed by Reining.
Should weather prohibit use of the outdoor arena, all events will be shown in the covered arena. The show will begin with Equitation over Fences followed by Horsemanship, Equitation on the Flat and finally Reining.
In the pair's first meeting at the Bulldog Invitational, Baylor squeezed by Kansas State 8-7 and picked up two MVP honors, Mary Smitson in Fences and Amanda Graber in Horsemanship. When the Bears traveled to Manhattan, Baylor earned a more compelling 12-8 victory and again two MVP awards, Cara Wilson on Flat and Beth Banister in Reining.
