MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Baylor equestrian team (10-4) will be the No. 2 seed at the fourth annual Big 12 Championship and take on No. 3 Texas A&M (8-3) beginning Friday morning at the Timbercreek Stables in Manhattan, Kan.
"We are very excited for this time of the year," head coach Ellen White said. "Facing off against Texas A&M is tough because it is hard to beat a team three times, but we are riding with confidence right now."
The host school has won each of the first three Championships: Oklahoma State (2009), Baylor (2010) and Texas A&M (2011).
The Bears have defeated the Aggies in each of the first two meetings, winning 12-11 in each match. The winner of the Baylor/Texas A&M match will take on the winner of No. 1 Oklahoma State and No. 4 Kansas State.
Opening ceremonies will begin on Friday at 9:30 a.m., with Saturday's consolation and championship matches beginning at 10 a.m. Admission for both days of the event is free and open to the public.
