EQ's Nicole Brown Honored by Big 12

IRVING, Texas - Baylor equestrian student-athlete Nicole Brown is one of 12 named by the Big 12 Conference as a Chick-fil-A Community of Champion for the spring term. During the fall, winter and spring terms, one student-athlete from each institution is honored. To be eligible, the student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 grade point average or higher and should be involved with at least one community service program. The program(s) could be a student organization on campus or within the athletics department and should demonstrate leadership and sportsmanship on and off the field. The institution of the student-athletes' on this list will be awarded $3,000 each year from Chick-fil-A for their efforts. Brown, a senior pre-med major, recently capped an outstanding four-year Baylor equestrian career leading the Hunter Seat Lady Bears to their highest-ever Varsity Equestrian National Championship, a fourth place finish. Brown holds equestrian team records for most Hunter Seat victories with 60 and most Equitation Over Fences wins with 40. In addition, she ranks No. 3 all-time in Equitation on the Flat with 20 triumphs. The Zionsville, Ind., native has served as a team captain for two seasons, been active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has served as a Hunters Point volunteer. In addition she is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers 2009 SPRING CHICK-FIL-A COMMUNITY OF CHAMPIONS
