The No. 2 Baylor equestrian team (2-0) hits the road for the first time this season when it travels to Stillwater, Okla., to take on No. 6 Oklahoma State (1-1) on Friday and Manhattan, Kan., to take on No. 7 Kansas State (1-0) on Saturday.

"This is going to be a very exciting weekend for us," head coach Ellen White said. "We have worked extremely hard and are ready to go out there, compete and show why we are ranked second."

The Lady Bears enter the weekend after claiming the championship of the Willis Invitational (Sept. 11-12) with victories over Miami (Ohio) (15-1) and No. 8 TCU (8-7). In that competition, three Lady Bears earned tournament MVP honors.

Thirty-one riders will be traveling for the Bears this weekend, including eight freshmen. Competing in the Western events will be Kindsay Douglas, Ashley Garza, Sheleen Hoshowski, Meghan Murphy, Suzanna Nelson, Allison Orosz, Chelsea Retmier, Lindsey Tomko, Michelle Reynolds, Cody Wooten, Katie Buss, Olivia Rogers, Madelyn Mooney, Barbara Aitken and Amber Mooney.

Competing in the English events for Baylor will be Margaret Boudin, Mary Smitson, Heather Healy, Kim Woodsum, Whitney McIlvain, Faith Morris, Kendra Vicary, Kaylin Enright, Andrea Schweiker, Taylor Brown, Lisa Goldman, Kara Fergusson, Brooke Biddle, Abby McCormick, Amanda Miller and Melanie Appel.

The Oklahoma State competition will be held on Friday, Oct. 16 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Animal Science Arena. The Cowgirls defeated SMU and fell to New Mexico State so far this season.

Kansas State enters Saturday's competition with a 1-0 mark after downing TCU earlier this season. The Wildcat and Bears matchup will be held at Fox Creek Farm beginning at 9 a.m.
