The No. 6 Baylor equestrian team (2-2) hits the road for the third-straight competition, taking on No. 6 Texas A&M (1-2) Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Brazos County Expo Complex.
The Lady Bears dropped a pair of road contests, falling to Oklahoma State (14-9) and Kansas State (10-9) on Oct. 16 and 17, respectively. The BU Hunt Seat riders are undefeated on the young season.
The Aggies hold a 5-3 lead in the all-time series, but Baylor has won the last three meetings. Last season, Baylor handed the Aggies their first and, to this date, only loss at the Expo Complex, 13-10 on Feb. 7.
For the competition against the Aggies, Melanie Appel, Heather Healy, Kim Woodsum, Margaret Beaudoin, Mary Smitson and Kaylin Enright will ride in Equitation on the Flat. In Equitation over Fences, Amanda Miller, Heather Healy, Kara Fergusson, Kendra Vicary, Lisa Goldman and Taylor Brown will ride. Horsemanship riders will be Allison Orosz, Ashley Garza, Lindsay Douglas, Lindsey Tomko, Meghan Murphy and Suzanna Nelson. Reining riders will be Katie Buss, Maddy Mooney, Amber Mooney, Valtie Riddle, Cody Wooten and Olivia Rogers.
A&M (1-2) is back in action at home after a tough road swing which saw the Aggies drop shows at Auburn and Georgia by a combined two points. The western riders enter the weekend on a 13-show win streak dating back to a loss at Baylor last fall. The Aggies are one of two undefeated western squads in the country in 2009.
