Equestrian Announces Signing Class

Equestrian coach Ellen White announced the signing of seven student-athletes, five English and two Western riders, to the program's 2011-12 class.

"We are very excited by the signing of these student-athletes," White said. "These young ladies know what it takes to win and they are going to be a big part of us getting to our goal of a National Championship."








Dubois Barnes - Western - Bryan, Texas (Bryan HS) - Multiple top-10 placings at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress ... Finished in the top-20 at the AQHYA World Championship Show.
Sue Carol Thompson - Hunter Seat - Austin, Texas (Star Charter School) - 2010 top-three finisher in Junior Equitation ... Maclay Regional Qualifier ... Zone 7 Champion ... THJA State Champion ... THJA Reserve Equitation Champion ... CTHJA High Point Rider three-straight years ... CTHJA Medal Finals winner two-consecutive years.
Emily Kinney - Hunter Seat - Traverse City, Mich. (Traverse City West HS) - Qualified for the 2010 USEF Talent Search Finals ... Won several champions and reserve champions in 2009, 2010 NAL Child/Adult Jumper ... Won first place at2009 Horse Shows by the Bay ... Earned several ribbons in Maclay, Pessoa/ USEF Medal, WIHS Jumper and Hunter Phase and Equitation 15-17 classes ... Modified Jumper 1.30m Grand Champion at the 2009 Ledges Classic ... Won first place at the2009, 2010 Marshal Sterling Children's Jumper Classic ... Placed eighth in the 2010HJAM Medal Finals.
Parris Rice - Western - Schonmish, Wash. - AQHYA World Champion in hunter seat ... Finished 10th at the AQHYAWorld Show in trail, while placing eighth in horsemanship ... In 2010, placed seventh in showmanship at 2010 AQHYA World Show, fifth in horsemanship and won the hunter seat for the second-straight year.
