Baylor's women's golf team shot a 297, retaining second place after Tuesday's second round of play at New Mexico State's Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate 304-297=601). The tournament is being played at the 72-par New Mexico State Golf Course located in Las Cruces.
The Bears, ranked ninth nationally by Golfstat, are still led by senior Melanie Hagewood who is currently tied for third place after shooting 3-over par on her second day of play (73-74=147).
Also performing a stellar second-round for the Bears is Kelli McKandless who carded an even-par 72 moving her up to be tied at eighth (77-72=149). Junior Michaelyn Morgan is tied for 12th after shooting a 75 (75-75=150). Senior Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson moved up in the standings and is tied at 31st (79-76=155). Freshman Josefin Svenningsson carded an 80 putting her tied for 88th place (86-80=166).
Freshman Erin Bradford, who entered as an individual, is currently in 59th place after shooting 16-over par (80-80=160).
New Mexico State remains in first place (305-291=596) in the 20-team tournament, followed by Baylor (304-297=601), New Mexico (299-304=603), San Jose State (308-302=610) and Oklahoma (314-297=611).
The Bears will finish the last round Wednesday at the University Golf Course with a shotgun start set for 7:30 a.m. MT.
