Women's Golf Finishes First at Rio Verde Invitational

RIO VERDE, Ariz. - The Baylor women's golf team shot a 297 for a 54-hole total 22-over par 886 to finish first Sunday at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational at the 6,277-yard par-72 Rio Verde Country Club's Quail Run Course. Senior Allison Martin (Bakersfield, Calif.) led the way for the Bears carding a final round 71 to finish first with a total of 212. Freshman Hannah Burke (Hertfordshire, England) improved to tie for 13th after shooting a final round 73 with a total of 225 while senior Anna Rehnholm shot 3-over-par 75 for the day to tie for 35th with a three round total of 230. Freshman Natalie Hocott (San Antonio, Texas) tied for 40th with a total of 231 after a final round of 78 while junior Sian Reddick (Folkestone, England) posted a final round of 84 to tie for 55th with a three round total of 235. Freshman Kristen Hendrix (Houston, Texas) shot a final round 80 to tie for 60th with a score of 236. Baylor shot an 886 to lead the overall team standings by three strokes over Arkansas-Little Rock and six strokes over Toldeo. Baylor's Martin (69-72-71) claimed the individual title with a three round total of 212 while Arkansas-Little Rock's Sara Wikstrom finished second at 215 (73-70-72). The Bears return to action at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational March 16-18 at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas. Individual Results
