The Baylor women's golf team shot 314 to finish with a total of 944 to finish sixth Sunday at the Texas A&M Mo-Morial at the 6,307-yard, par-72 Traditions Golf Club, site of the 2006 NCAA Central Regional May 11-13.
Senior Meredith Jones (Eugene, Ore.) shot 3-over par 75, the second-lowest round of the day, to tie for eight at 230, while senior Josefin Svenningsson (Gislaved, Sweden) shot an 82 to tie for 17th at 235.
Junior Allison Martin (Bakersfield, Calif.) shot a final-round 78, in a tournament where any score below 80 was considered a success, to tie for 28th at 239.
Junior Anna Rehnholm (Karlskrona, Sweden) finished with a 79 to tie for 44th at 244, while junior Sherry Summers (Montgomery, Texas) shot an 87 to tie for 65th at 249.
Texas A&M's Ashley Knoll claimed the individual title with a two-over par 218, while TCU's Elin Emanuelsson finished second seven strokes back at 225. Arkansas' Stacy Lewis finished third at 226.
Arkansas and host Texas A&M tied for the team title with a score of 59-over par 923, while TCU finished third at 935. Baylor finished only two strokes behind fourth-place SMU at 942 and one stroke behind fifth-place Oklahoma at 943.
The Bears return to action at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational March 17-19 at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas.
