Women's Golf Remains In 2nd After Round Two in St. Croix

ST. CROIX, Virgin Islands - The Baylor women's golf team fired a 314 to remain in second place and put six more shots of distance between themselves and third place after the second round of the St. Croix Collegiate Classic Saturday at the 6,701-yard, par-70 Carambola Golf Club.

Sophomore Josefin Svenningsson (76-79) and freshman Anna Rehnholm (79-76) are both tied for ninth at 155, seven stokes off the lead.

After an opening-round 74, senior Michaelyn Morgan shot an 82 to tie for 14th at 156. Sophomore Meredith Jones (77-80) is tied for 16th at 157, and senior Kelli McKandless is tied for 38th at 163.

SMU leads the overall standings at 607 to lead the Bears (306-314=620) by 13. Xavier, Boston College and Illinois State are all tied for third 16 strokes behind Baylor at 636. SMU's Kristina Rosthengatte (73-75=148) leads Boston College's Kori Goulet (78-73=151) by three strokes and has a four-shot lead on Illinois State's duo of Samantha Richdale (76-76=152) and Ashlie Rose (76-76=152).

The tournament concludes with the third round beginning on Sunday at 7 a.m. EST.
