Natalia Perez's opening-round 75 was one shot off her season best.

"We are a little bit out of the lead, but it is a tough golf course," head coach Jay Goble said. "What we are concentrating on and what we are thinking about is that we are going to minimize our mistakes for tomorrow - that is the mindset we are trying to keep out here."
The Lady Bears find themselves just three strokes behind Oklahoma State (+13; 293) and Mississippi State (+13; 293), who are tied for fifth place. Oklahoma (+5; 285) is leading the tournament, followed by Alabama (+6; 286), Florida (+9; 289) and Miami (+10; 290).
Hayley Davis and Emma Carberry both shot three-over-par 73 in the first round, and they are tied for 20th place individually. Davis and Carberry are five strokes behind tournament leader Stephanie Meadow (-2; 68) of Alabama.
"Hayley and Emma both had up and down rounds," Goble said. "That is pretty typical of a round of golf out here. It's just a hard course to shoot under par. I feel like we did not play our best and we have a lot better rounds in us the next two rounds."
Baylor's tee times for Saturday's second round begin with Lonardi at 8 a.m. CT, followed by Perez at 8:09 a.m., Taylor at 8:18 a.m., Carberry at 8:27 a.m. and Davis at 8:36 a.m. Sunday's final round is scheduled for an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start.
