WACO, Texas - Baylor's women's golf team is in fourth place after the first round of the Mountain View Collegiate hosted by Colorado and Colorado State. The tournament is being played at the Mountain View Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.

The Bears, ranked 29th nationally by Golfstat, shot 307 Saturday and are led individually by senior Tara Bateman who posted a 75 to tie her for seventh place.

Rounding out the individual scoring for the Bears, junior Melanie Hagewood shot 76 and is currently tied for 11th place, followed by senior Nicole Johnson who is tied at 16th after shooting 77. Junior Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson is tied for 27th place with a 79 and sophomore Kelli McKandless is tied at 63rd after shooting 86.

Kansas State is the current leader at the tournament after a first round 298, followed by Arizona State (302), and Long Beach State (305).
