The Baylor women's golf team finished an impressive first day of play in 5th place for the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic. The Bears combined for a score of 602 (26-over) after the first two rounds.
Freshman Morgan Chambers turned in a team-best 74 in the first round, which tied her for eighth overall. Senior Sian Reddick and sophomore Hannah Burke followed closely, scoring a 75 and 76 respectively. Lene Hafsten-Morch carded a 79 and Kristen Hendrix turned in an 80. Jordan Rhodes competed individually and finished with a stellar 75.
In the second round, Reddick, Burke, and Hafsten-Morch all turned in a 74, while Chambers continued her nice day with a 76. Hendrix and Rhodes carded a 79.
After two rounds, three Bears stand in 17th or better with Reddick leading the pack tied for 13th.The Bears are just four strokes behind Wisconsin for a third place team finish.
Baylor will look play the final round of the regular season Monday morning.
