WACO, Texas - Baylor women's golf went 4-2 in singles match play against UTSA on Sunday, capping a 6-3 victory over two days of match play at Ridgewood Country Club. The Lady Bears previously won two of three doubles matches on Saturday.

Baylor's wins on Sunday came from Hayley Davis, Laura Lonardi, Maggie Beth Byers and Hadas Libman. Davis and Byers both won by two holes, with Davis knocking off Fabiola Arriaga and Byers defeating Aimee Ponte.

Libman earned her victory by taking a three-hole lead through 16 holes against Taylor Newlin, and Lonardi claimed a win with a six-hole lead through 13 holes against Chelsea Bretcher.

Natalia Perez came up short after trailing by six holes with five remaining against Libby Thomas, and Louise Gateau-Chovelon lost by the same margin against Brogan Townend.

"This was a fun competition that is going to help prepare us for postseason," head coach Jay Goble said. "One of the hardest things to do as a coach is to try to find games to keep them competitive when we're not at events. These two days kept the competitive juices flowing, and playing match play was different than usual, but a nice change."

Baylor next competes at the Big 12 Conference Championship, which runs April 25-27 in Austin, Texas. Follow the official twitter feed of Baylor women's golf, @BaylorWGolf, for updates throughout the season.
