LUBBOCK, Texas - The Baylor women's golf team finds itself in 10th place at the Big 12 Championships after a first-round 322 Friday afternoon at the Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas.

Fifth ranked Oklahoma State takes the lead into the clubhouse after the first 18 holes of play with a 295. OSU's Carolina Hedwall has the individual lead, carding a 3-under, 70 on Monday.

"We really struggled during the first three holes and last three holes today. Then the holes in between, we played some really good golf," said head coach Sylvia Ferdon. "We just need to put it all together.

"Tomorrow's a new day. The good thing is that we've still got a lot of golf to play. We've come from behind to win our last two tournaments, so hopefully that trend will continue."

Jordan Rhodes led the way for Baylor with a 6-over, 79. Rhodes, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, sits tied for 22nd individually after posting a team-best three birdies during the first round.

Looking to become the first-ever Lady Bear to be named to the Big 12 All-Tournament team for the third consecutive season, Hannah Burke carded a first-round 80 at the par-73, 6,564 yard course. Burke is currently tied for 28th place headed into play Tuesday.

Also competing for Baylor was sophomore Lene Hafsten-Morch, freshman Chelsey Cothran and sophomore Morgan Chambers. Lene Hafsten-Morch posted a first-day 81, while Cothran and Chambers tallied an 82 and 83 respectively.

Baylor will tee off round two of the Big 12 Championships in Lubbock, Texas, Tuesday morning at 8:50 a.m.
