The Baylor women's golf team could not recover from their last place position at the Big 12 Championship as they posted a third round 339 for a three-day total of 1021. Oklahoma State captured their sixth Big 12 title by a record 27 strokes as they carded a 307 for a combined 912 at Karsten Creek in Stillwater.

Sophomore Hannah Burke posted an 80 on the final day, propelling her to a tie for 10th place at 237 (21-over). With the top-10 finish, Burke became the third Bear to earn back-to-back honors to the Big 12 All-Tournament team. OSU's Jaclyn Sweeney became the first freshman to win the individual crown as she turned in a final score of 225, just 9-over par.

Freshmen Morgan Chambers and Jordan Rhodes finished with an 87 and 83 respectively while sophomore Kristen Hendrix carded an 89 on the final day. Senior Sian Reddick posted a 90 in the final round of her collegiate career.

After finishing in the top-5 in five of the last seven years, the Bears' 12th place finish marked their poorest performance in the Big 12 Championship. The Bears had not finished worst than 7th since a 10th place effort in 1998.

In an effort to gain much needed experience, Coach Sylvia Ferdon went with a young lineup throughout much of the spring, and the Bears entered into the 2008 Big 12 Tournament with four underclassmen on the five-man squad. Though the Bears were not able to capitalize, they are hopeful that the experience will pay off next year.
