Baylor earned its second NCAA Championship berth in program history. In 2004, the Lady Bears finished fifth at the NCAA Central Regional before tying for 19th at the NCAA Championship in Auburn, Ala. Baylor also established school NCAA Regional records for 18-, 36- and 54-hole lows.

UCLA, LSU, Pepperdine, Colorado, Baylor, Stanford, North Carolina and Oklahoma all advance to the 2012 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship, which will be held May 22-25 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn., and hosted by Vanderbilt University. Texas Tech teammates Kimberly Kaufman and Gabriella Dominguez are the two advancing individuals.

North Carolina’s Catherine O’Donnell won the regional individual crown, finishing at 7-under 209. LSU’s Austin Ernst finished one stroke behind O’Donnell at 6-under 210, while Baylor freshman Davis came in third at 4-under 212. Davis notched her sixth top-five and ninth top-10 finish of her rookie campaign, while registering a 54-hole career low for strokes (212) and score-to-par (-4). The Wimborne, England, native finished the final round with three birdies over her final four holes to secure her fifth sub-par performance.

Davis, who set the school NCAA Regional 18-hole low Thursday, tied her own school mark with her final-round 69 on Saturday, while also tying the 36-hole low (143) and setting the 54-hole low (212).

“We played so well today,” first-year head coach Jay Goble said. “Stani (Schiavone) had her best round of college golf and couldn’t have come at a better time. She brought it today.

“Hayley (Davis) went birdie-birdie-par-birdie to finish with a 3-under 69,” Goble said. “We had great finishes to our rounds today. They really wanted it and it was fun to see.”
