Women's Golf Tied for 8th at Dick McGuire Invitational

Albuquerque, N.M. - The Baylor women's golf team continued play at the Dick McGuire Invitational Tuesday carding a second round of 303 and are tied for eighth at the 6,069-yard, par-73 UNM Championship Course.

Senior Josefin Svenningsson (Gislaved, Sweden) continued her impressive start to the season by finishing the second round strong in a tie for fourth after shooting rounds of 70, and 72 a total of 4-under par 142.

Senior Meredith Jones (Eugene, Ore.) finished day two in a tie for 42nd (78-75-=153). Junior Anna Rehnholm (Karlskrona, Sweden) tied for 50th at 154 (76-78=154), while sophomore Sian Reddick (Folkstone, England) tied for 61st at 155 (77-78). Junior newcomer Allison Martin (Bakersfield, Calif.) closed round two in a tie for 93rd at 235 (80-84=164).

Pepperdine and Texas A&M lead round two of the tournament with at 2-over par (586) over Ohio State (587). Texas A&M's Ashley Knoll, Pepperdine's Carolina Llano, and UNLV's Grace Woo finished at 5-under par with a 141 to lead The individuals. New Mexico's Mikaela Backstedt and Svenningsson are only one stroke behind at 142.
