Women's Golf Advances into 3rd in New Mexico

WACO, Texas - Baylor women's golf moved up two spots into third place after completing the second round of the 16-team Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M. The Bears shot a 303 today, giving them a total score of 604, tied with Texas Tech. Oklahoma maintained their lead from yesterday and has a two-round total of 598, four shots ahead of second place Louisiana State.

Kansas State's Christine Boucher and Texas Tech's Kim Kolb are tied for first place with a two-round total of 146. Baylor senior Michaelyn Morgan held her third place position, carding a 76 today. Sophomore Josefin Svenningsson advanced ten places to tie Morgan and two other athletes with a total of 148. Senior Kelli McKandless shot a 76, improving by four strokes over Monday's total. She is currently tied with freshman teammate Anna Rehnholm for 38th (156).

The Bears will play the final round Wednesday morning at the New Mexico State University Golf Course.
