The Baylor women's golf team finished tied for fourth after the final round of play at the 2000 Price's NMSU Intercollegiate Women's Golf Invitational at the New Mexico State University Golf Course.
The Bears, ranked 21st nationally by Golfstat, were led by sophomore Melanie Hagewood, who shot a final round 74 (73-71-74=218), and took the second place spot.
Baylor shot a final-round 309 to finish with a three-round 909 (302-298-309). NMSU won the tournament with a three-round 886. TCU (897) finished second, followed by Oklahoma State (901), and Baylor and Oklahoma tied at fourth with (909).
Rounding out the individual scoring for the Bears were freshman Michaelyn Morgan, who carded a 226 (74-73-79) and finished tied for 15th, junior Tara Bateman shooting 78-78-74 for a total of 230, sophomore Hanna Sofia Svenningson ended tied for 45th place with a 236 (77-77-82), and junior Nicole Johnson (80-77-84=241), who shot an 84 Tuesday to finish tied for 60th.
The Bears have finished in the top 10 of all four tournaments this season, including a victory at the Michigan Fall Invitational in September. This was the final tournament for the Bears until 2001.
