OAHU, Hawaii -- - Baylor's women's golf team is currently in third place out of 18 teams at the Rainbow Wahine Fall Golf Classic at the Kapolei Golf Course in Oahu, Hawaii. The Bears shot 608 to secure third place after two rounds.
The Bears, ranked 38th nationally by Golfstat, are led by sophomore newcomer Kelli McKandless who shot 150 (77-73) tying her at 7th.
Rounding out the individual scoring for the Bears, junior Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson shot 151 (75-76) tying her at 11th, senior Tara Bateman is tied at 18 after posting scores of 78-75 (153), senior Nicole Johnson shot 73-81 (154) tying her at 23rd and junior Melanie Hagewood is tied for 78th place after posting 166 (82-84). Sophomore Michaelyn Morgan entered as an individual and is tied for 41st place after shooting 83-75 (158).
New Mexico currently holds first place with a two-round total of 596, Arizona is in second place (604), Baylor in third (608), Idaho is fourth (610) and California is in fifth (612).
The final round of the Rainbow Wahine Fall Golf Classic will be played tomorrow.
The Bears are coming off a first place finish at New Mexico State's Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate.
