Junior Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson led the Bears to a fourth place finish at the Rainbow Wahine Fall Golf Classic.

OAHU, Hawaii - Baylor's women's golf team finished fourth out of 19 teams at the Rainbow Wahine Fall Golf Classic hosted by Hawaii at the Kapolei Golf Course in Oahu. The Bears shot a three-round 913 placing them in the record book in the low tournament 54 holes category.
The Bears, ranked 38th nationally by Golfstat, were led by junior Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson who shot 75-76-75 (226) to tie for ninth place.
Rounding out the individual scoring for the Bears, senior Nicole Johnson tied for 17th place after posting 73-81-75 (229), sophomore Kelli McKandless also tied for 17th place after shooting 229 (77-73-79). Senior Tara Bateman shot 78-75-78 (231) to take 26th place and junior Melanie Hagewood shot rounds of 82-84-77 (243) to leave her tied for 72nd place. Sophomore Michaelyn Morgan entered as an individual and posted a score of 235 (83-75-77) giving her the tie for 40th.
New Mexico took the title 21 shots ahead of second place finisher Arizona. In third place was California, Baylor finished fourth and Central Florida finished fifth.
The Bears have finished in the top five in three out of four tournaments so far this season.
Next up for the Bears is the 2001 Islander Fall Classic hosted by Texas A&M Corpus Christi at the Kings Crossing Country Club in Corpus Christi Nov. 12-13.
