Women's Golf Tied for 3rd in Hawai'i

HONOLULU - Senior Josefin Svenningsson (Gislaved, Sweden) fired rounds of 70 and 75 and is in second place, four strokes off the lead, as the Bears posted a 36-hole team total of 603 and are tied for third at the Kent Youel Invitational hosted by the University of Hawai'i at the 5,900-yard, par-72 Kapolei Golf Course.

Sophomore Sian Reddick (Folkestone, England) is tied for third at 146 with rounds of 72 and 74, while senior Meredith Jones (Eugene, Ore.) is tied for 29th at 155 with scores of 78 and 77.

Juniors Allison Martin (Bakersfield, Calif.) and Anna Rehnholm (Karlskrona, Sweden) are tied for 46th at 158. Martin carded 80 and 78, while Rehnholm shot two rounds of 79.

Southern California leads the tournament at 588 (294-294), nine strokes ahead of Stanford at 597 (301-296). A pair of Bears are tied for third as Baylor (299-304) shares the spot with California (298-305) at 603. Long Beach State rounds out the top five, one stroke out of third at 604 (302-302).

Stanford's Kelly Husted holds a four-stroke advantage over Svenningsson after firing a 69 in the opening round and a 72 in the second for a total of 141.

The competition concludes with the third and final round Wednesday.
