TUCSON, Ariz. - After a mid-week home dual match, the Baylor women's golf team returns to the road March 25-26 for the MountainView Collegiate, co-hosted by Colorado and Colorado State.
MountainView Golf Course, a 6,227-yard, par-72 course, will serve as the host site for the two-day event. Baylor is one of nine Big 12 teams in the 18-team field, which includes five top-40 squads - No. 12 Arkansas, No. 14 Iowa State, No. 24 Oklahoma, No. 28 Colorado and No. 39 Minnesota. Live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com.
On Tuesday, the Lady Bears fell to No. 31 Kent State by 11 strokes in a rare dual match at Ridgewood Country Club. Windy conditions made for a difficult course setup as Baylor shot 311 as a team with Jaclyn Jansen leading the way with a 4-over-par 76. The Lady Bears have two top-five finishes through their first seven tournaments.
Joining Jansen in the lineup at MountainView will be freshman Kaylin Terry and upperclassmen Chelsey Cothran, Lene Hafsten-Morch and Jordan Rhodes. Cothran leads all Baylor scorers with a 74.32 stroke average, seven rounds of par or better and five top-25 finishes. Jansen is second with a 75.00 stroke average, followed by Hafsten-Morch at 75.36.
Baylor will conclude its spring regular-season April 11-12 with the Baylor Spring Invitational at Twin Rivers Golf Club in Waco.
