WACO, Texas - Baylor's women's golf team was awarded the No. 14 seed in the NCAA East Regional during the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship selection show on Monday.

Baylor will be making its third NCAA Regional appearance in as many seasons under head coach Jay Goble, and the program will be making its 13th all-time NCAA Regional appearance - all in the last 15 seasons.

"We are thrilled to be traveling to Florida State for the East Regional," Goble said. "Our team has been playing well in the last few weeks, and we are poised for a late postseason run."

The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be hosted by Florida State and played at South Wood Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla. Baylor and 23 other teams will play one round per day from May 8-10.

The top eight teams at each of the three regional sites will advance to the 33rd-annual NCAA Championships, which will be held May 20-23 at Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. The two lowest-scoring individuals on non-advancing teams will also move on to the NCAA Championships.

Baylor will be joined in the East Regional by No. 1 Duke, No. 2 South Carolina, No. 3 Stanford, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Pepperdine, No. 6 Central Florida, No. 7 Virginia, No. 8 Auburn, No. 9 North Carolina State, No. 10 Florida State, No. 11 Kentucky, No. 12 Tulane, No. 13 Louisville, No. 15 East Tennessee State, No. 16 Georgia, No. 17 Campbell, No.18 East Carolina, No. 19 Texas State, No. 20 College of Charleston, No. 21 Troy, No. 22 Murray State, No. 23 Seton Hall and No. 24 Alabama State.

The Lady Bears are the only Big 12 Conference team at the East Regional, but six Big 12 teams made the tournament field. Three teams from the league will be in the Central Regional with No. 6 Oklahoma State, No. 14 Kansas and No. 15 Texas, and No. 8 Oklahoma and No. 9 Iowa State will play at the West Regional.
