WACO, Texas - Junior Hayley Davis is headed to Tulsa, Okla., to compete in the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships. Play begins Tuesday in the four-day, 72-hole event held at the par-70, 6,194-yard Tulsa Country Club.
"Hayley's ready to go play," head coach Jay Goble said. "She's been out at the golf course every day this week getting ready."
Davis qualified for the NCAA Championships by being the lowest-scoring individual on a non-advancing team at the NCAA East Regional. She finished tied for second in the 126-player field after shooting 6-under-par 210, including a final round of 5-under 67 that tied her career-best round.
The 24-team field includes Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, California, Campbell, Duke, Florida, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan State, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Stanford, Southern California, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Tulane, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Washington.
Davis is one of six individuals competing in the tournament. Other individuals include Clariss Guce of CSU-Northridge, Tonje Daffinrud of Denver, Gabriella Wahl of East Tennessee State, Wad Phaewchimplee of Kent State and Dana Finkelstein of UNLV.

"Hayley is coming on strong and saving her best for the end of the year," Goble said. "I think she's ready to go out there and play well."
Davis will tee off from the first hole at 8:25 a.m. CT in a group with Phaewchimplee and Guce in Tuesday's first round, and the same group will tee off for the second round at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday from the 10th hole.
