Women's Golf Duo Named NGCA Alll-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Morgan Chambers and Kristen Hendrix were recently honored for their academic success as the duo was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team.
Chambers averaged 80 strokes a round, competing in all 11 tournaments during her freshman campaign with the Baylor women’s golf team. Chambers recorded her best collegiate finish at the Susie Maxwell-Berning Golf Classic with a three-round total of 222, finishing tenth overall.
Hendrix, a two-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection, carded her season-best score of 234 at the Mountain View Collegiate during the spring season. Hendrix also earned 2008 First Team Academic All-Big 12 honors.
A total of 402 women's collegiate golfer's, for Divisions I, II, and III, were recognized by the NGCA. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, with a minimum GPA requirement of 3.50 and 50% participation in the team's scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
