WACO - Baylor's women's golf team opens its fall season Saturday at the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The Wolverine Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan, is held at the UM Golf Course. The course is a 5,962-yard, 73-par course in Ann Arbor.

Competition will start Saturday with 36 holes, followed by 18 on Sunday. The 11-team field includes: Arkansas-Little Rock, Baylor, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Grand Valley State, Michigan, Ohio, Toledo, Western Michigan and Xavier.

The Bears traveling squad includes juniors Tara Bateman, Nicole Johnson, and Jennie Persson, and sophomores Melanie Hagewood and Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson.

Baylor, unranked in the preseason edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, earned its first-ever berth in the NCAA Tournament last season and finished ranked 36th nationally.
